World War 1 Head Quarters

WW1 Finally Comes to an End

Germany surrendered on November 11, 1918 at 11 A.M., and all nations agreed to stop fighting while the terms of peace were negotiated. WW1 lasted exactly four years, three months and 14 days. Before WW2 began, WW1 was called the the Great War, the World War or the War to End all Wars. 135 countries took part in WW1, and more than 15 million people died in the war.

The worlds first global conflict "The Great War" pitted the Central Powers of Germany, Austria-Hungary, and the Ottoman Empire against the Allied forces of Great Britain, the United States, France, Italy, Russia, and Japan. The introduction to modern technology to warfare resulted in abnormal crime and destruction, with more than 9 million soldiers killed by the end of the war in November 1918.
